I bought a pair of these (size 11) for my 3 year old last year. They were a size 10 at the time and I was expecting them to be a bit roomier but I have to say they are really difficult to put on due to the elastic laces and high top. A year later, she still needs help getting dressed. So I find it disappointing. The stiff material means you can't feel your toes, so it's generally difficult to tell how they're sitting. They also hold up very well and are really waterproof. So I got this pair for my 2 year old. She just went to a size 7 but based on my experience so far I bought her a size 8. They seem to fit her well (again hard to tell...I just have to look at/compare to her existing shoes and also see how she moves in them ). It's very difficult to find a serious hiking shoe in a small size, but I think they're great despite the flaws I've listed. Both of my kids run miles each week on different terrain, do a lot of climbing and jumping, and they seem very comfortable and able to move about as they please.
