Worked with Memory Stick Pro but not regular Memory Stick

I had three MS cards - two Pro and one regular. He could read two Pro cards but not the normal one. Also, the product itself is cheap plastic - I had a feeling it could easily break - but I only needed it to extract photos and videos from the cards once. All in all it cost $6.90.
