These are great - allow you to use regular LED candelabra based bulbs that you find at Costco as opposed to more expensive GU24 bulbs. They don't add much length. I've been able to fit them into every ceiling fan I've used. These are ceiling fans with horizontal bulbs in a glass dome, so you're pretty limited in length. They are brighter and use less energy than the supplied CFL GU24 bulbs. Whatever you do, don't use them with incandescent bulbs. The purpose of the GU24 base (annoying as it is) is to prevent you from using incandescent bulbs as they will exceed their rating and generate too much heat for the fixture, which in the worst case could result in a fire. However, as long as you stick with LED bulbs, you're good to go.
