Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's packed with goodies and feels more moisturizing than most gel creams!

I've tried other AprilSkin products and I've always liked them. When I saw that it was a cream with squalane, I really wanted to try it! It's also said to be fragrance-free and have a low pH of 5.5, which balances your skin's pH. It contains 3% squalane. I like that they gave a certain percentage. Squalane is a great moisturizer known for leaving skin nice and smooth without being too heavy or greasy. It is compatible with practically all skin types and skin conditions! It's great for acne-prone skin. It is also a detoxifier. Finally, regular use of squalane can boost collagen production for firmer skin! It contains 80% wormwood. When I first saw this product, I didn't know what vermouth was. I had to do a little research. I learned that it is also known as vermouth. I know, I know vermouth doesn't sound like a good name. Artemisia sounds much better! It is known as a medicinal plant because of its antibacterial, antifungal and skin-protecting properties. Due to its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, it works on dry, irritated skin. It's even good for treating skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Vitamin E is a component of wormwood that helps the skin retain moisture. It can also reduce redness on the skin. That is known. They have smoothing and protective properties for the skin. It's an antioxidant to help prevent damage from UV rays and a collagen stimulator to reduce the appearance of fine lines. It also makes the skin more radiant. Sounds amazing right?! I think so! It also states that it contains 7 types of hyaluronic acid - sodium hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate cross-polymer, hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate, hydrolyzed hyaluronic acid, acetylated sodium hyaluronate and hydroxypropylthymonium hyaluronate. The other goodies in it are glycerin (another great humectant!), niacinamide (moisturizing, skin lightening, anti-acne), trehalose (moisturizing), dipotassium glycyrrhizate (also called licorice, which is calming, anti-inflammatory and regulates sebum production), allantoin (soothing , softens the skin, protects the skin, promotes wound healing), adenosine (anti-inflammatory, promotes wound healing, may promote collagen production in the skin, repairs and protects the barrier) and sugar cane extract (moisturizes and is similar to AHA glycolic acid, so can provide some peeling). This is a gel cream which is a water cream. For me, most water creams aren't thick enough for skin to actually feel hydrated. But I like to put it on before applying makeup. I don't like using a thick cream before makeup because I find it too heavy. That's why I like to use water creams for this. But after seeing that it contains squalane and so many other moisturizing ingredients, I thought it might be more moisturizing than other gel creams I've used. It is a very light gel texture. It glides on the skin, absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky feeling or residue. It works well under makeup. It leaves my skin hydrated and ready for makeup. This surprised me because my skin felt so hydrated that I used it as a regular moisturizer rather than just a pre-makeup moisturizer, which water creams don't usually do for me. So that really surprised me. Overall I think this is a great moisturizer! It works very well under makeup. It hydrates the skin really well without feeling thick or heavy on the skin like some creams. As I said before, I usually prefer thicker creams than my regular moisturizer. I usually feel like it's the creams that keep my skin hydrated the best. But this one did a great job. I love that I found one that can be both my regular moisturizer and my pre makeup moisturizer. If you're looking for a really good moisturizer to use before makeup and/or as a regular moisturizer, I would recommend this one.
