macbook pro showed a message like "external usb is using more power "

hi, i can't find how to contact you regarding product warranty to replace an adapter.ps. It worked for a week with no problems, but a few minutes ago the external monitor lost the picture, the Macbook Pro showed a message like "External USB is consuming a lot of power", the adapter got very hot, and I noticed , that a little melted speck on its side after I turned it off.
