Review on GE 6 Outlet Integrated Circuit 14087 by Justin Ewing

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I doubt it protects against surges.

I bought these surge protectors for my computers and specifically chose the GE brand because I thought they were 'heavyweight' as described and more reliable than other brands I wasn't familiar with. It's very cheaply made, has six outlets VERY close together. If you have a slightly larger plug, you'll have to skip the space to plug in something else next to it. The switch at the top is labeled OFF on one side and RESET on the other, not ON. There is no indicator light to show if the bar is on. Other surge protectors I have have two indicators, one showing electrical current is flowing through them and the other showing the surge protector is on. I would have returned it but a family member opened it up and is using one as a socket extender. . I won't trust them as surge protectors, just using them as outlet extenders for small items. Disappointed with the GE brand.

Pros
  • Functionality - With keyhole slots, this unit is easy to mount on a desk, table or counter. The reset switch makes it easier to control the electronics.
