I like almost everything about this jug. It's beautiful and can be used on the stove to heat water. I tried it, it doesn't break. I wouldn't use it for this purpose because the pitcher is too narrow and tall to cook for a VERY long time. It is better just to boil in a kettle and pour into a jug. However, I have one major gripe with it, and that is that the seal on the lid is a bit loose. When you put the lid in the jug it flips up and fits quite snugly. It's not as firm as we'd like, but it does hold the lid when pouring. However, I did notice that there is a gap between the gasket and the spout, so if I had tea leaves or lemon seeds at the bottom, they could still pour with the lid on the side of the filter opening. I tried to fix it by keeping the washer. points down, but when I do, the lid will be very loose and won't stay in place when pouring. Despite this, the seal is not long enough to completely close this gap. So it makes no sense. I will be keeping this jug but this is something to consider when buying, you want the strainer to be leak proof and the liner to fit properly.
