I'm looking at the Rii i8+ 2.4GHz version of this keyboard. I'll start with the "bads" (not really bad - just something I've seen other people mention): I've seen other reviews that say the mouse "twitches". To be fair, I have to say that I also had this experience briefly. until I switched hands. It doesn't seem to work well with my thumb. With my thumb, the mouse moves erratically and sometimes doesn't register my movements at all. However, when I use my index finger, it works like a dream. Not exactly "my" dream per se as I'm not a big fan of the touchpad, but it works just as well as any other touchpad. I think it has to do with the surface. When I use my thumb or press another finger against the pad, it stops working properly, but when I lightly touch it with a tip other than my thumb, it works fine. The keyboard works as expected. to. ie there are no technical problems. As mentioned, it goes into sleep mode if you don't use it for a few minutes and need to "wake it up" with a keypress before you can use the touchpad again. You cannot wake him up by swiping your finger across the touchpad. If you're like me you might have looked at the pictures and expected it to be a bit bigger than it really is. Actually it's about the width and height of a game controller (I think I had an Xbox once so that's my link), or maybe a little less and it's a lot thinner. It's very light (much lighter than, say, my phone) and this may affect your perception of build quality. Personally, I found the fit and finish to be very professional, although I would have preferred the touchpad instructions and branding to be removable. Basically, to me, the lack of weight makes it seem like if I throw it against a wall, my main concern is where it will bounce. I assume the device itself is fine. No, I haven't really tried and no, I never expect to. But for some reason, that's my mental standard for "how solid it seems". Overall I am very happy with this little device. I have a number of computers, phones, and other devices that could benefit from a keyboard but don't require it all the time. I could buy the Rii keyboard for any device and it wouldn't cost too much or take up too much space. It even comes in multiple colors, making it easy to see which keyboard matches the device. I wouldn't want to use it as the primary input device for anything like a computer as there's no replacement for touch typing, but for casual use it's much better than the on-screen keyboard and doesn't last long. almost as much space as a real full-size keyboard. Addendum: I see that Rii is now selling a similar keyboard where they have replaced the top right bar with a scroll wheel. This seems like a fantastic idea as I use the scroll wheel quite a bit. Mind you, the two-finger scroll gesture on the touchpad works fine, but a real wheel is certainly welcome and I've already ordered one of these new devices. Too bad there aren't more colors for this yet.
