Review on 🎧 Bowers & Wilkins PI3 - Blue: Wireless In-Ear Headphones by Kelly Ponder

Amazing sound, good and bad - while it works

*REDACTED* The left earpiece stopped working after 3 months. Replaced, now the power button doesn't work after 6 months. Other people seem to have intermittent reliability issues. Too bad about black and white, the quality is so bad. * ORIGINAL * Headphones seem to be built to last: thick silicone wires, earbuds have a secondary mesh to protect speakers. Communication is stable and easy. The battery lasts long enough. Every time I need to perform an action, it takes me a few minutes to find the buttons. The weight of the body can transmit noise to the ears during running or other vigorous movements. In terms of sound, I was impressed by how loud the audio can be (compared to wired phones), how effective the soundproofing is (I can't understand what people are saying to me even when I stop the music) and how clear and smooth the music sounds. The music becomes so clear that I can see every detail of how the singers are saying the words, I can hear every instrument. While testing some of my favorite songs, I noticed noises: distortions, cuts, white noise. Worried, I switched to lossless sources and tried even my best wired phones, only to find that the hiss was always present in the recordings, but it didn't sound clear enough to notice. Now they are and I can't listen to Bohemian Rhapsody without noticing an annoying distortion in two high piano notes around 2:11, after another low tone distortion just before. About the bass: Perfect! It's not over the top, but it's still crisp and blends with other sounds in a way I've never heard before, aside from natural-sounding live performances.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • Nothing
