A great microphone for a variety of applications. I mainly use it on my Canon R5 for vlogging. The sound quality is rich and clear thanks to the low-pass filter. The stepless gain control is a game changer. I can continuously adjust the volume to suit different situations while recording. Sometimes I want to record a quick video with my iPhone but I don't need low quality audio from the iPhone, so I can connect the VM-20 to my phone using the TRRS cable that comes with the microphone. The battery lasts a long time, it never ran out on any of my shoots. In fact, I really appreciate the OLED screen for battery life, which helps me keep my battery life in check and keeps it from running out of juice mid-shot. Great price and great quality. If you're considering buying an expensive microphone like the Rode NTG VideoMic, you're better off buying the VM20, which has similar features and quality but is a much better price.
