Review on Klipsch Cinema Wireless Subwoofer HDMI ARC by Scott Tompkins

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Subpar Sound Offer

Overall I think this 2.1 system falls short if you're looking for a decent virtual surround sound system for your entertainment system, which is what I was looking for. I returned it because the sound wasn't that impressive for Klipsch and got the Vizio 5.1 instead for a lower price and the overall sound of this one is much more satisfying because it really has center and atmosphere. While the Klipsch definitely offers fuller sound across the board, I can't forgive how poor the virtual surround sound is. If you're happy with stereo, you can be happy. I don't like high ones either, they're hard for my taste; a bit like nails on a blackboard, but as far as I can remember, Klipsch is known for their tweeter horns. Pros: Sound has weight and fullness than cheaper systems in this price range (but only at a discount of under $200). The RRP is too high compared to other offerings - it comes with a quality 8-inch wireless subwoofer that's a lot better than other offerings in this range. Probably the most impressive part of the system. The build quality is definitely top notch. The system looks very nice there - it's easy to set up, the equipment is simple and minimalistic. Cons: - Overall sound is weaker compared to other systems in the same price range - Virtual surround sound isn't even remotely believable or acceptable I would recommend looking at other systems before switching to this one.

Pros
  • Best-in-class 8" subwoofer
Cons
  • The list will go on.
