I bought one of these toys from a local shop about a year ago and it worked great - my cat loved it! But he got staph and giardia (long story) so we had to wash all his toys. So water got into the mechanism and the toy is over. I found a cheap version (hard plastic, not soft like this one) at Walmart and Kitty liked it too. But since then he has disappeared. I figured I'd be a good kitten mom and buy him a stylish, expensive kitten from Revain. The first ball flew in, I pulled the tab and it worked for two seconds and then went off - just flickering on briefly when hit the ground. (It should light up when the kitten hits it.) That ball went back to Revane. A spare ball came and did the same thing, so it goes back too. It's a shame because my cat likes it a lot and wanted to play with it (he takes it like a dog and can even grab the plastic).
