Our son's bedroom is down the hall and around the corner. There are portable sconces that you have to reach over a shelf to turn on, and he always forgets to turn them off. They're hard to see in the dark, so this was the perfect choice instead. As soon as you approach his room OR as soon as he opens his door (which is around the corner) the light comes on. No more accidentally stepping on our blind dog or blind cat. The magnet sticks well to the ceiling and the light can be easily removed for charging (which is generally not often necessary).
