Review on πŸ”† Efficient HzSane Incandescent Replacement Refrigerator Bulb - Non Dimmable by Tammy Cooley

slight flickering 60 Hz: lamp

Slight flickering at 60Hz. This prevents you from taking pictures indoors when that is the dominant light source. The strobe effect when scanning the room with my eyes wasn't very noticeable to me (unlike other lamps), but maybe it was a feature of just testing it with a low-wattage bulb. I wouldn't dare equip the entire chandelier with these bulbs. The material of the bottle is plastic, not glass. The plastic is glued to the metal contact with yellow glue (I don't care unless I've seen similar glues before and not had good experiences with them, but that remains to be seen). There may be some capacitors hidden in the metal contact etc (I saw a flash of color when I checked with a flashlight), but I can't say for sure. None of them is dangerous in and of itself; The box is declared as CE and UL listed. The supposed protection against overheating etc. is a nice plus, which I think mitigates the questionable design. Similar "LED filament" designs are obviously better for getting a good arc pattern/evenly distributed angle of light, but I'd buy a different one next time. , and one without flicker.

Pros
  • easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
