Review on πŸ“ž Push to Talk U94 Military Adapter 2 Pin 7.0mm Plug for Kenwood/Baofeng Radio by Mark Cole

Great deal if you can make it yourself

When I first got a U94 military PTT system adapter, 2-pin 7.0mm jack, Kenwood/Baofeng radio push Got to-talk jack to connect Earmor M32H MOD3 headset, I was really good excited. It looks and feels high quality. Then somehow everything went wrong. I plugged them in and they didn't work. I could hear things very faintly, but just barely. Apparently I heard through the microphone. After seeing another review about someone letting a friend do magic on the device, I decided to open it up and see what I could do. I was rather disappointed. The solder joints melted the wires nicely, and after some measuring and looking at the diagrams, the red and yellow wires on pins 2 and 3 were swapped. This is easy to fix if you have a soldering iron. Less than 60 seconds into launch I unplugged the wires and re-soldered them with Yellow for 2 and Red for 3. The PTT button is a surface mount button that is subject to abuse. Putting everything back together was a bit of a chore, and the length of the wires was such that putting it all back together was a challenge as well. On a positive note, while the chrome on the bezel is a little poor, it feels heavy enough to last longer than the rest of this device. I finally got it working and it seems to be working fine. enough. Eventually, however, that little button will fail, and then I'll replace it with something better suited to the task at hand. Overall I give 3 stars. It works well for the price, which is the main thing, but the button and the need to swap out the wires make it worth giving two stars (maybe more) in my opinion. do it as soon as you get your hands on it.
