Review on EAZ LIFT 48860 Telescopic Jack by Leslie Matlak

Strong! but. - Alignment and Stabilization

I used them to support and stabilize the rear of my 10,000lb 35ft RV. My old scissor jacks were damaged and I haven't decided to permanently replace them yet. They looked great and worked very well, but almost nothing is perfect. My biggest complaint is the lack of another stylus adjustment hole. There are two holes at the bottom of the shaft and another one at the top, but there is a big gap between the bottom set and the top hole. The stand has three legs and the missing hole had to go in the top of one of the legs. This was done to avoid cutting the top of the third leg and to save some money. When I got back from my trip I drilled a hole in the missing spot and it was a bit of a chore with a hand drill but it made the whole stand much easier and safer to use. (When I needed this adjustment, I had to unscrew the threaded part a couple of inches to set the correct height.) Make sure the floor under the stand is good and firm. One day it rained and the ground got soft and one side of the stand sagged. This caused the carrier to tip over and the camper fell. The threaded shank was bent due to the oversized lifter I was using. The boys are not to blame! Later, when the ground got soft, I used a larger base under the stand for extra stability. I was able to cut off the threaded shank and just use the top to put it back into service. The missing adjustment hole prevents a rating of 5.
