I read reviews about HIFIMAN headphones on YouTube and heard a lot of positive reviews. So I chose the HE400SE headset. I connected them to my DAC, boosted the bass, then the unexpected happened: extremely strong bass distortion at a moderately high volume when boosting the bass with the equalizer APO, because that's what I use music with every day. I have never been so dissatisfied with these supposedly high quality headphones when I get far less distortion from my $25 KZ headphones and my cheap $30 headphones that I also bought from Revain. I feel hurt because I have never seen or heard a YouTuber comment on a negative review of a HIFIMAN product. Even my Soundcore Hi-Res headset sounds way better when connected with a 3.5mm male-to-male cable (yes, it's Bluetooth). Please think twice before you spend $170 for this HIFIMAN headset. I even tried replacing the cable but the sound didn't improve. I had to send the headphones back.
