I've tried all types of water plates. Ceramic, metal (with rubber bottom) leak-proof bowls that can be attached to drawers and a bowl for friends. None of them held up. The bowls on the floor swayed and splashed. The plastic bowls were torn to pieces. Overflow cups were not inverted or chewed until they leaked. I was crazy! I searched and searched and found that this product, along with two small metal clips, solved my problem. It doesn't stand on the floor so my pup can't scoop or pull out the bowl. The flat side of the bucket with the handle allows for a secure hold. I haven't had to clean up a mess since I bought it. It's a shame I discovered this bowl earlier!
