The dog will die of thirst before drinking from this bowl!

This is a lousy, poorly designed product and a plagiarism. Hardly any water comes out of the paw-shaped hole in the center of the bowl. In some places there was no water at all for the dog to get to. Relies on the dog understanding that it has to paw at the gray plastic floating on the surface of the water to expel the water. Only one of my pets understood this, the rest didn't. I expect the bowl to have some water on the surface and not act as a guard to prevent the dog from getting water. As…

Truck dogs and cats will love this bowl

My husband and I drive our two pet trucks all the time. We have a German Shepherd and a cat and struggled to find a drinker who didn't make a mess with water sloshing everywhere. The German Shepherd is very thirsty and anything within 3 feet of a bowl of water will get wet. This bowl will slow down her drinking and contain a mess, and the best part is that the cat can drink from the bowl too. The bowl is non-slip, easy to see when it needs to be filled and very easy to clean. We've tried other…

Great product but my dog died within minutes!

We have a 13 week old German Shepherd puppy. I bought this item because she keeps putting her paws in her water bowl and turning it over. It seemed like a great product to get around this, and in fact it is. The problem is that my dog was too smart and figured out in 5 minutes that if he stuck his paw further in, the water would run out. She then decided that if she continued like this (which it did) it would eventually flip, so she used some of the pieces as chew toys. The product will be…

Great for messy drinking labs!

Zeke, my father's dog, is notorious for drinking. I don't even think he takes his last sip, he just fills his mouth and walks away, leaving a trail of water in his wake. When I found out that my parents were staying with us for a month, I needed a wooden floor protection. I was intrigued by this bowl because I hoped it would make him drink more slowly, and I was right! To train your dog to have water in the bowl, remove all other sources of water and then fill the bowl so that some water is…

If only I had known that long ago!

This boy eats and drinks very casually. As you can see, his food bowl is no longer on the mat. Drinking consists of gulping and leaving, with water pouring from the corners of the mouth. Take a bite but that's another story😁 So I was on a bulldog forum and another bully owner asked a question. How can I stop water stains and this mug was recommended. I brought it with me right away. He arrived the next day. He used it immediately, as did the other two dogs. I still have the regular bowl just…

Almost perfect.: Cats

I love this bowl, I think the idea is brilliant and it works really well. I have two dogs with beards and with this bowl I no longer have to deal with wet floors because the beard drips after every drink (water stains on carpet are a real problem). The water stays much cleaner and they immediately learned how to use it. My only issue is that although it may have taken a couple of weeks, water got into the disc. I opened it and threw it away, cleaned it and wondered why they didn't just shut it…

Large drinking bowl

I recently had a problem with my German Shepherd drinking water too quickly and then spitting it up. I decided to try the float bowl hoping it would slow it down. We've had a new bowl for a few weeks now and it seems to have served its purpose. He hasn't vomited water since we switched places. The bowl is dishwasher safe and can be easily disassembled for cleaning. You can hold the bowl together to refill. My dogs were a bit confused at first but quickly figured out how to use the bowl. It…

The answer to my constantly wet kitchen floor!

My son is visiting with his 60 lb Catahoula. Scooby is a very friendly, water-loving dog. When he goes out for a drink, which he often does, he eats and eats and eats, leaving splatters, huge drops, and long jets of water on the kitchen floor. My husband became dissatisfied with wearing socks in the kitchen. I once slipped on the Scooby Drops and almost fell. I'm not inclined to risk breaking a bone. So when I read that one of the online dog grooming bloggers recommended this type of bowl, I…

Problem Solver - Thoughtful Design

My 9 month old standard poodle likes to mess up when he drinks. He rushes to swallow as much as he can, then turns away from the bowl and splashes water everywhere. After researching the options, this bowl seemed worth trying. When I opened the package I was initially discouraged because it looked like it would be difficult to fill. The bowl is made up of multiple layers that snap together to protect the floating lid that restricts water flow. Luckily, after everything is set, you simply pour…

Difficult to clean

Works well. Our golden doodles drink and drip water on the parquet floor. When she got this bowl she was just frustrated, put her paw right in the bowl and pressed the float plate down. After being taught not to, things got a little better, but she still manages to wet her face and drip water, but not as much. One issue I have with this bowl is that it is LARGE and holds a lot of water which the bowl really needs to function well. Even with our 11 lb dog and 30 lb dog using it and drinking…
