One image describes the material as "high quality glass". It is not. It's plastic and I wouldn't call it high quality. The lid is described as sealed and leak proof. While the core of the brewer screws into the lid, the lid doesn't prevent spills *around* the spout when water is poured. The weight of the fruit-filled core causes the lid to shift and lift every time I pour water. I figured this out after the first pour and now hold the lid in place by pressing it against the top of the pitcher every time I pour. It's manageable, but not ideal.
