Stride Rite is one of the few companies that makes wide leg shoes for kids. My grandniece is 21 months old, wears a size 6 and has a high instep. These classic shoes fit her perfectly, I don't think she will wear them for very long. They are very elegant and designed to be worn at a formal wedding. They are made of patent leather, but the sole is non-slip and flexible. The strap has a metal buckle just for aesthetic reasons, they close with velcro so they are easy to put on and take off. Most Mary Jane shoes cut into the top of your instep, but they have a low rise, perfect for your thick legs. They are very elegant and so charming that they even have a small sparkling diamond on them.
