As I said, it's flat and very bright. The finish is very subtle, looks very nice, matte silver, aluminum color. the light fills the whole circle, there are no shadows. It's bright enough to be difficult to view directly. It's easy enough to install. The screw caps do a good job of giving a clean finish to the face. Since it is a flat ceiling light, the light distribution is slightly narrower. Mine is on the lower ceiling, 7 feet, so there are dark spots on the top corners of the walls. I'm not a big fan of LED downlights as they are often not that bright and can't be made brighter by simply changing the bulb. It's in an area that isn't very busy but gives the room enough light. 1 star deducted because when the light is cold or left unused for a long time, it takes half a second for the light to turn on when you turn on the switch. But it has been working fine for at least 2 months. Let's see how long this lasts.
