Heavy, inexpensive, does the trick

This is the first record weight I've ever used so not much to compare. Both of our turntables are direct drive, so the weight does not affect the speed of the turntable. I bought it because it was cheap, has a felt backing to "protect" the tag, and the wood finish looks really nice.

Pros

No-Slip: Don't let your favorite songs slip away (literally)! The weight of our turntable acts as a record stabilizer, heavy enough to keep the record from slipping for maximum enjoyment.
