As I wanted this inexpensive smartwatch to replace the Fitbit knockoff I am emphasizing my experience with these features and not phone, messaging etc applications. Out of the box, it wasn't an intuitive process. General. I don't mind reading the instructions to see where I'm going, but the instructions that came with the Bit Smart Watch were in very small print and I wanted to see if I could avoid reading them read. Unfortunately, I didn't even see where to plug the charger in, although attaching the watch to the charging dock was easy enough. Once the charge was full, pairing the watch with Bluetooth was easy, but it seemed like the "recommended" app for your phone wasn't a choice to miss. The watch will not work if you don't have the app on your phone and are registered and signed in. So if you were hoping to ditch your phone and switch to a smartwatch, forget it. The watch is advertised as suitable for both men and women, but I found this watch to be too big for my wrist. The watch also has a rounded back and is quite thick so it sticks out of your wrist - it's only a matter of time before I bang it against a wall or something and shatter the glass. I haven't seen a way to remove the watch strap and replace it with another like most watches. As for the pedometer, which is the most important feature for me, it doesn't work the way I want it to. It only registers steps when you wave your hands. If you walk while on the phone, or like I like, walking on a treadmill with a book in hand, then the pedometer doesn't register enough hand movements to register steps. I've tried taking it off my wrist and hanging the watch on my belt, but that didn't work either. I think we're back to specialized fitness trackers.
