I was a bit disappointed when we took it out of the box. The table is described as a table that a child can paint and decorate themselves. Well I was a little surprised to find that at least 50% was already painted and the parts that weren't painted were very small. A child under 5 years old is not interested. Two 11-year-old girls spent about 15 minutes with him before moving on. The white "do not remove" label can be easily removed. I slipped my finger under the hardboard and removed the label with no problem because it's barely attached. Markers are the basic markers that you get with any inexpensive paint set. They don't dry quickly or produce bright colors, but they work. Overall, it functions as a lap table and is soft and fluffy - just what younger kids often like. As for the activity part, there could be a project for rainy days or if the kid says "I'm bored" you can pull that out and it'll entertain for a few minutes.
