These are amazing diner mugs. My favorite memory is growing up in New York on E 87th & 2nd Ave and going to the 3 Decker Diner on Sundays after church. Me, my grandmother and a small group of our friends went. When I was 12 I started ordering coffee, we ordered and these heavy white ceramic mugs were placed on hard wooden tables and I liked something about the sound. Hot black coffee was poured from a carafe and I enjoyed looking at it, something in those cups made the coffee taste better. I currently live in Greenville, South Carolina and live in a 3 bedroom apartment. I ordered this set and it arrived within two days. A family came from Tennessee and Florida, and my uncle and aunt stayed with me and my wife. They love these mugs, they love the taste of my coffee, and I love the sound they make when they hit my coffee table, countertop, and dining table. These are my favorite mugs. I would recommend these mugs to absolutely anyone, at home or at work. Beyond 5 stars.
