It took me a hell of a time to install them, not because the shells themselves were complicated, but because I lost one or more internal springs on 3 separate occasions thanks to my cat who suggested it" technical " assistance at will and seemingly at the most inopportune moment. The left side is good. No complaints. Everything fits perfectly and the d-pad is a welcome addition (although, to be honest, I only bought the d-pad because it was the only style I could get for same-day delivery). On the right we start to have problems. I assembled the right one first, so I was pleasantly surprised when the left one came together painlessly. Anyway, assembling the joystick and housing is relatively easy (albeit tedious at times) but I stumbled across a stain on the inside of the front half of the housing (the same side where the buttons/joystick are) . ) where there was extra plastic in one of the grooves where the rail was supposed to go. It wasn't immediately noticeable because the extra plastic looked smooth and flush with the rest (i.e. there were no burrs or sharp corners that were easy to identify and cut off). This caused the shell not to be flush with the guide and also caused the shell to bulge or bulge when the entire assembly was put together, including a small gap between the shell and the guide. To solve this problem (to an extent), I took a small flathead screwdriver and basically drilled through the extra plastic to get it out of the way. The situation has improved a bit, but still not 100%, which worries me. There's also a sort of "scratched plastic" that's visible from the outside given the case's transparent appearance, but that doesn't bother me. Other problems include what many others have described; The buttons on the right joystick don't quite click as they should, namely the bumper/trigger buttons. They don't feel like they have the same bounce as standard shells (or abandoned BASSTOP shells, for that matter). The ABXY will indeed have pressure issues if the screws are over tightened, but this is easily remedied by slightly loosening the screws holding the battery plate. All in all, you can't be too disappointed with how they turned out. There wasn't really anything wrong with them not being able to be used, but time will tell if the trigger/bumper issues are too distracting to play with.
