Comfortable fit for swollen feet, a few minor issues

Lately I've been dealing with feet that constantly swell in closed shoes. The culprits seem to be a combination of normal heat build-up and my legs staying in the same position for too long. I ordered these athletic sandals to eliminate that first issue as a problem. I can lead others. Lately I've been having a hard time putting on a pair of shoes, let alone wearing them for a while. These size 13 sandals have adjustable velcro straps on the front and back that open wide enough for my feet to slip in easily. easily, regardless of their condition. Just feeling that sense of relief by avoiding the usual ordeal of putting on a pair of shoes is enough to make my day better. These sandals fit well, just over an inch of the sandal sticking out in front of my toes and maybe a half inch at the heel. For me it's almost perfect. I close the velcro straps fairly loosely so my feet can do anything but tight enough to walk comfortably. The soles of these sandals are not the softest. They're not particularly cushioned, and there's no arch support to speak of. I can handle it while breaking them in, but I doubt long walks are recommended. If there's one thing I would change about the insoles, it's this: They're covered in a rather rough, grainy material that's a bit uncomfortable when walking barefoot. I hope that repeated wearing of this material will compress and smoothen it significantly. These are small, minor issues that do not affect my overall deep satisfaction with being able to wear shoes with some level of comfort. If you have a similar problem with your feet, you can try wearing sandals instead of slippers indoors and wearing them outside during the warmer months.
