Review on ITW Brands 25023 Anchor Screw by Mark Kolipano

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Not durable nor fully functional Design or manufacturer

Bought a set of 4 EZ Ancor anchors to install a glass shelf in the bathroom. 4 were needed and I thought 4 packs would be ideal; not so. Following the instructions to simply tap the green head against the wall with the up arrow, the first anchor broke after only three light taps. What is broken is the plastic bar used to hold the shaft going into the wall first towards the larger head; and it is clearly said to be the turning point after the screw has been driven into the anchor. I installed in 1/2" deep drywall. After this failure and having no more than 4 working anchors, I looked further to see if drilling pilot holes would affect this product. Holes are necessary, in fact they were unless you want broken anchors. As you push the dowels into the small pilot hole (and I assume this also happens without a pilot hole on softer drywall) the dowel rotates so that the arrow no longer points straight up. .world and was asking if they would mail me one so I can review the rest of the anchor design claims and complete my project with 4 working anchors (if they hold my shelf to the wall). There was no response from them. General. I cannot recommend either the company or this anchor "Tap-N-Lock". Will return the item.
