This is my first razor so it's hard to compare to others but I give my two cents. I was skeptical too because the only time I had it used on me at the hairdresser was when I cut myself several times. but I needed something to better detail my beard. I'm sure there are better razors out there but for the price I'm very happy with this product. It's easy to hold and works well for detailing my beard on my cheeks, but I find it very uncomfortable around my neck (probably my fault, or just what any straight razor will do for me). The wooden handle has held up so far, but in the future I'll probably buy a plastic or metal handle so I can clean with more confidence. The only problem I have found is that the sheath is very tight and when you fold the razor it easily pops out of the "clips" that hold it in place because the razor goes into the handle , but the clips are too thick to get in. Also, cut hair gets caught under the razor blades quite easily, which is a bit annoying.
