Works as advertised. An amazing little adapter that can make an internal drive more useful without having to buy a more expensive external drive. I originally bought this to store my HP laptop's Blu-ray drive for connecting to a Mac, but my HP laptop was refurbished so I ended up using it to power it externally via the USB port on the Connect laptops and use the empty drive bay to install an additional SATA SSD with adapter. Since I don't burn CDs, the read-only feature is sufficient and I can still connect to a Mac if needed. I can always temporarily change the internal drive if I ever need to burn CDs. It is enough to unscrew two screws.
