Very poor quality cable

This is a very poor quality cable and the cable I received only worked intermittently which made my experience terrible and cost me more money because a DVD burn failed, leading to many DVDs being thrown away. in the trash. It seems to work but eventually it stopped working so I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again. Also, the cable length is very short which puts the DVD drive in an awkward position, look for a higher quality product.

Pros
  • Rugged finish
Cons
  • Protection

It works great.: Computer Accessories & Peripherals

Only gripe is that it sticks out on the left side instead of being flush with the unit. Trying to fit a laptop drive into a small case complicates matters when the cable is misrouted and protrudes more than an inch from the drive. It would be great to have one with a 180 degree angle from what is. I couldn't find it in the store.

  • Absolute Legend

The cable is very short - about 6 inches. Although it works perfectly!

I use this cable to connect my laptop to my desktop computer and it works fine. It offers true USB3.0 speeds as I can tell from the HDD read and write speeds. The length doesn't bother me, but if a 6 inch cable isn't enough for you, you can also buy a USB3 extender or just get a product with a longer cable. The cable itself looks like heat shrink cable wrap because it's thin and you can see the bulges and outlines of the cables it's holding in the wire. Also, if it's bent too much, it creates…

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad

Great little adapter that makes internal storage more useful

Works as advertised. An amazing little adapter that can make an internal drive more useful without having to buy a more expensive external drive. I originally bought this to store my HP laptop's Blu-ray drive for connecting to a Mac, but my HP laptop was refurbished so I ended up using it to power it externally via the USB port on the Connect laptops and use the empty drive bay to install an additional SATA SSD with adapter. Mac if necessary. I can always temporarily change the internal drive…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires power outlet

Perfect fit for SATA laptop drives

I have been collecting computer, PC and laptop parts for many years. I had several laptop optical drives, but there was no way to check the data versions. This cable works perfectly. I have tested and used various discs with it. My gaming laptop doesn't have an internal drive so maybe an external one.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Damaged

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Almost full stars but a bit shaky where the optical drive is attached.

A little weak in the main bracket. Less movement is required to avoid damage or loss during use. Otherwise works well, will be updated later if quality degrades over time, also needs a bit more cable length to ease the pressure on connection points.

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • High price

Very poor quality cable

This is a very poor quality cable and the cable I received only worked intermittently which made my experience terrible and cost me more money due to a botched DVD burning process that resulted in a lot of DVD media being thrown in the trash. It seems to work but eventually it stopped working so I had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it working again. Also, the cable length is very short which puts the DVD drive in an awkward position, look for a higher quality product.

Pros
  • Support: laptop SATA DVD drive and second hard drive enclosure
Cons
  • Big and bulky

I had an old 2011 HP laptop that sat idle for years with a broken screen. It had a Blu-Ray drive that could be removed by loosening a screw. So I plugged in this Blu-ray drive, removed the plastic cover, bought this cable, and plugged this drive into the USB port on my desktop case. My desktop computer has a USB port at the top and the top is flat, so this *very* short cable works well for my particular situation. In other situations it may be useful with just a USB cable extension…

Pros
  • No driver required on XP/Windows 7 and Mac OSX or later, bootable from external drive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Since I don't burn CDs, the read-only feature is sufficient and I can…

Pros
  • No external power required
Cons
  • Not as thick as other lock picks
