Large size and flexible material is great for my daughter. However, she struggles with a bow because she still doesn't know how to tie her shoelaces, and it often comes undone in class, despite my attempts to tie a good knot. I would recommend them for the fit and quality, but we've replaced the bow with a strong elastic! (just cut the thick rubber band in half)
