I bought this camera a month ago to replace my Canon SD200 3.2mp/3x zoom. I needed a 7x zoom for a small point and shoot camera. In comparison, I liked the color saturation (white balance) better on my Canon! I still love my little gun and I think it can take some better shots! I've made a lot side by side and even thought about returning this new one! However, this Olympus can do amazing things. Technology has come a long way. I love the panorama stitching mode, camera editing, etc. However, I was VERY disappointed when I used the continuous zoom mode. My photos were automatically taken at a lower resolution and came out quite pixelated. (It was a big deal) All in all, now that I've had the time to really play around with the camera and work with the modes, I really think it's a decent and fun camera for most people. It does most of the thinking FOR you, if you want it to! That's a lot of camera for a small price. I still don't always like the color tones compared to my Canon. But that's just my personal opinion. UPDATE: now, 2 months later. I use and love my camera more. older children. I found a very useful function that I use quite often that helps with color saturation! I turn on the little SHADOW ADJUST button in the bottom right corner (along with the delete button) and it brightens my photos and makes me a lot happier! I wish I had done that from the start. So easy. And it really matters!
