Don't think twice about it; just do it!
As was previously indicated, disabling RightLight will prevent blurring caused by fast camera movement.
With its LED off mode and motion recording capabilities, this device can serve as a basic surveillance camera. I paid $800 for it, whereas the going rate was $1300 at the store I went to five minutes later. Price it right!

Pros

Even at the lowest possible resolution of 320x240, the picture quality is outstanding. Even with just the monitor's backlight, the face is easily discernible in the dark. The U-shape and attached cable make it possible to mount the camera not just in front of you, but also in the corner of any regular LCD screen. That is, you can tilt the camera, and when it's dark, your face automatically looks better. This Skype microphone is fantastic.

Cons

When used with software other than Skype, the microphone produces an either inaudible or "out of a pipe" sound. This makes sense, though, if you're planning on using the money on something else (like a headset) entirely.
