My experience with Saucony Kinvara dates back to versions 4, 5 and 6. I even run marathons in version 6 with good results and no issues. I've had several pairs and they've lasted a long time. I then tried other brands with varying or no success. So I decided to go back to Kinvara, this time more for general fitness than for distance running as I no longer have the time or inclination to train for distance competitions. Edition 6 definitely feels roomier in the toe box. Also, Issue 6's fabric was "plusher" which allowed me to wear them barefoot if I wanted to. Release 12 is rougher in the heel area. For these two reasons I now have to wear socks all the time, nothing wrong with that. I wear them to the gym, they are great for running on the treadmill. Not enough lateral support for training but that's to be expected from a shoe. They feel great on the road, I use them for up to 5 miles. They also offer good grip on wet roads. And the comfort cannot be compared to any other shoe, of course for my feet (we are all the same, with different builds and running styles).
