This is a small ripstop nylon bag approximately 18 inches high (including 6 inches handle) and 10 inches wide with an additional 4 inches on each page open. Imagine a padded shoebox with handles and you'll get the idea. When folded, it measures 4" x 4" flat so it won't take up much room in your pocket or purse; I keep mine in my back pocket along with my wallet. I just got it so I didn't have a chance to actually test it to see how it held up, but it's well built and was exactly what I was looking for as I didn't want to carry a large grocery bag around. .
