Very similar to a TV mount. They give you everything you need to install in clearly labeled packages. Well made and a lot stronger than you think. Months later: still fantastic. Installed on deck and stays in great shape. Really liked it! Also included is a handy little spirit level. About the spirit level: the instructions show that it should be placed on the plate that you attach to the wall so you can hang it vertically and theoretically hit the floor of the lag bolt on the stud when you hit the top lag bolt. Worked great when I tested it on a table. So I marked the top hole, drilled a pilot hole and hung the bracket. I prepared to mark the bottom hole and went to place the bubble level on the top. The screw I just put in (which wasn't there during the test install) is preventing the level from settling on top. Although it was a great idea.
