UPDATE (NOVEMBER 30, 2021): I've been using it constantly since I bought it in October! This little guy works great, but I've found it works best near vents/an area that gets a lot of dust/dirt/odor coming out. I removed it from the air vents (which are right outside my door) and noticed that the smell of cigarettes permeated more than other smells. I thought the filter had gone bad but it didn't...so I took it back to the door/vent and now I don't feel anything. So just a side note, I think this works best when it's near vents/doors. ORIGINAL REVIEW (October 19, 2021): I live with my husband and his family, his brother smokes and by god it's awful! It's gotten so bad that even when he doesn't smoke, he always smells the same no matter when the air conditioner is turned on. I literally choke when I smell cigarette smoke. Pooh. I also have a terrible allergy to wool, cat or dog... and they have 4 pugs. I've been using this little one for 5 days in a row and at first thought it's not that big of a deal, but on a Sunday morning when my husband and I woke up to shop for groceries we can smell cigarettes in the hallway but our room smelled wonderful. I was shocked! My mother-in-law also likes to drink coffee in the morning and I usually smell it, however the smell was very, very faint. I've also noticed that I don't cough as much at night and breathe better when I sleep. This is perfect for a bedroom. The fan emits a quiet hum at the highest level, but it is not audible at the lowest level! The only thing that bothers me is that the buttons are touch sensitive and not real. I know the touch buttons can cause problems later, but other than that I like this little thing. Definitely worth the money
