We help cats at a local animal shelter here in Iowa. we usually have two or three extra cats in our home at any one time - while they await their forever owners. I've found in the past that using double sided tape as a cat deterrent works great when they come onto counter tops or similar places where I don't need cats. It's also good for attaching to furniture corners that I don't want to scratch. As I mentioned above, I used to just buy some old ordinary double sided tape. I was looking for another solution because regular duct tape leaves sticky marks on surfaces (Goo-Gone was my best friend!). After some research, I found out that some manufacturers, like this one, actually make double-sided cat tape. I decided to try this brand. I put it on my kitchen table early in the morning - before my wife left for work. I set up a small video camera to see the results. Oh, it used to be funny! Cats jumped onto the counter - hit the tape - and bounced off the counter immediately - as soon as they managed to break free of the tape! LAUGH OUT LOUD! The other place I used the tape was on our leather sofa in the corners. I placed at two corners to keep the cats from scratching. At the moment it costs about 4 days - and it works! Now the cats have found other spots to scratch, so I need to mask those spots too. Slowly but surely we are coming to this new group of cats! Oh, and as for the sticky residue - I was surprised that it didn't leave behind like old, regular double-sided tape. What a victory! Overall I am very happy with this purchase. It's good for our cats! <3
