Review on πŸ”΄ WD 2TB My Passport Portable External Hard Drive HDD - USB 3.0, USB 2.0 Compatible (Red) by Philip Wagner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Overpriced, slow performance, poor design, cheap construction, and packed with unreliable software

The added expense of going from 4TB to 5TB is outrageous. Hard drives are too slow and outdated to cost that much. For some reason this model doesn't have non-slip feet and the cheap plastic surface is extra shiny/slippery. This allows it to slide like a hockey puck on almost any flat, hard surface. I have three previous My Passport models and they all have non-slip feet. This is truly an incredible design oversight on the part of WD. The included software is complete rubbish: the LED on/off button in WD Discovery doesn't work, and WD Drive Utilities immediately crashes and becomes unresponsive when I open it - it should force quit and then make it difficult to eject properly drive as it gets stuck as "in use". I have nine other WD external hard drives, but this will most likely be my last.
