Review on Accurate and Versatile: Omnigrid 3 Inch By 18 Inch Angles Ruler - Essential Tool for Precise Measurements by Angela Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good, precise, easy to see ruler with protected lines

We ordered this ruler to replace one of two Fiskars rulers that lost their print after a month of use. This ruler appears to have a yellow underlay over the black lines. Their intention is obvious to make this line more visible on both light and dark materials. The yellow back also serves as a protective layer for the black lines, in my opinion. We contacted Fiskars and they replaced both lines within four days. It will be interesting to see what the new lines will look like. One thing right off the bat is that Omnigrid is very flashy. Yellow gradations are striking. one would think all companies would apply a protective varnish to their varnished graduations. At least a transparent protective layer. The Fiskars line was 1/2 inch wider than the Omnigrid. This should allow for quick gradation of 1/2" seam allowances on two adjacent sides (long and short). I like Omnigrid from what we've seen so far. When the new Fiskars come out we'll think about having one using a fine brush to apply a thin coat of clear epoxy or clear coat to the black graduated lines on the underside. Retirement comes with a lot of free time Grandpa Joe is considering using a fine brush to apply a thin coat of clear epoxy or clear polish to the black ones graduated lines on the bottom. There's a lot of free time in retirement. Grandpa Joe considers using a fine brush to apply a thin coat of clear epoxy or clear polish to the black graduated lines on the underside. In retirement you have a lot of free time. Grandpa Joe
