Review on SATA Spark Plug Socket ST12919SC by Steven Brouillard

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Like a craftsman. good, almost

This ratchet is very similar to my favorite ratchet, the Craftsman teardrop ratchet with 3/8" flex offset, which I've been using for 30 years. SATA quality is very similar, but probably not as good. However, my Craftsman ratchet only has 36 teeth, while SATA has 46 teeth. Like Craftsman, SATA offers a lifetime warranty, but only for the first-time buyer. The Craftsman's flexible head has three notches and snaps in. The flexible SATA head won't snap but seems to stay where you put it I prefer really smooth round handles like this ratchet It feels a lot more comfortable when you need to use significant force and light cleaning I love SATA Extender I've never seen the socket locking mechanism on a straight extender before Sometimes it's difficult to remove a socket with grease from an extender H change. Just press the buttons and it releases effortlessly. The swivel extender doesn't have this feature, but adds a 15-degree angle when the base is pressed halfway. Vibration can be eliminated when the bushing is fully inserted. I also like that both extensions have a hatched part of the handle at the top. This allows the screws to be easily removed if they are loose. Spark plug sockets have a rubber insert to hold the spark plug in the socket so it can be lifted out of tight spots after it is fully unscrewed. . The problem I had was that the black rubber on the plug held up better than it did on the socket itself. A dab of silicone should fix that problem. Overall this is a great set that I will be keeping in my truck along with a full set of 3/8 sockets.
