Flush, but installation sucks

Yes, it sits flush with the ceiling. It's breathable, but spend the extra money and buy one that can black out. The LED donut is very bright which could be a good thing but I have mine at the cinema so I would like to get a dimmable one. And HOLY BEJESUS sucks the setup! For most fans, the wiring can be done to the fan at the top of the stairs. Not this one. You want the entire low-powered fan assembly to be about 2 inches from the ceiling while you do the wiring. This is definitely a two person job.
