Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Moab 2 GTX Hiking Shoe for Men by Merrell by Robby Fingaw

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Poor quality and construction

Very disappointed with the durability of this product and can only give these boots 2 stars due to serious quality and durability issues. I've bought many Merrell hiking boots over the years and have enjoyed the comfort, but this was the first boot I've ordered with GORE-TEX. I'm a size 12 medium width and the fit, arch support and comfort right out of the box is great. No break-in period required. Unfortunately, they barely lasted six months before the upper separated from the sole (both shoes) and the rubber toe cap began to crack at toe flex... right where a shoe like this should be strongest! It seems to me that such poor construction completely defeats the purpose of buying more expensive boots with a GORE-TEX waterproof membrane. It's a shame that Merrell can't make shoes that last longer, and a shame that Merrell sells $140 (retail) hiking shoes that last less than a season. Save your hard-earned money and buy something from another manufacturer like Vasque, Oboz, Keen, or Solomon. I'll bet even comparable hiking boots like Hi-Tec or Karrimor will last longer at half the price. There are many other options, better quality and more durable!

Cons
