I wonder if these socks are comfortable and relieve pain is an individual question but they seem to work well with my own idiopathic neuropathy. I wear them under regular socks during the day and alone at night and my pain seems less than usual. (My pain is sporadic and shifting, so it's difficult to be more specific.) As mentioned, each pair has a left and a right, clearly labeled 'L' and 'R'. I noticed it straight away. But what I haven't guessed is which end of the hose goes up the ankle and which end goes down the foot. I really struggled putting on this first pair and I knew I wouldn't wear them often, if ever, if they were that tight. But when I noticed the tongue that goes behind the ankle and keeps the most supportive part around the arch of the foot... well, they suddenly became a lot easier to put on and a lot more comfortable. So they're a little more complex than most socks, with left and right, top and bottom, inside and out, but once you get the hang of it your life should improve a lot.
