Some of you may have heard of VirtualLink, the standard for controlling displays with a single cable? Spring. which died in the bud in August 2019, as did manufacturer support (except for a few laptops here and there), although there are plenty of USB-C displays on the market. Finding a desktop solution was nearly impossible. Then I discovered this (and thank goodness it's still in production, unlike Sunix solutions for example). Here's what this box has enabled me to do: -> HDMI from PC to Wacom HDMI input (my HDMI cable) -> USB from PC to Wacom Micro-USB port (with cable included) -> USB-C from PC ( or power supply) to Wacom USB-C and then to Wacom USB-C -> Asottu 4k Touch Display. and everything works! Touchscreen, 4k, video etc. with one cable! NOW SOME IMPORTANT NOTES:- **** Not every USB-C cable can transmit video! **** The one included in the kit works perfectly. The cable that came with it is 6 feet long and I needed a 10 foot cable with a 90 degree connector so the first one I bought was a mistake and I got a $14 tutorial. If purchasing a different cable, check the description to make sure it supports video transmission through it. Make sure the USB-C port has enough power. In my case, I was fortunate that my monitor was very modest and I have the option of plugging it into either a PC's USB-C or a USB-C wall outlet. Make sure you plug in the micro USB port if you have a touchscreen or a monitor with a built-in hub. In any case. i like this thing In the next part of this project I will move it into the PC case and then install a USB-C riser to hide the cables and Wacom box in the PC case.
