This case works very well with the Samsung Note 8. The phone fits just perfect and is very easy to use in the case. I bought it mainly to protect my phone when it's raining outside and it really has added up as I hoped it would. The drawstring makes it easy to wear around the neck. Inserting the phone seems almost backwards (the top of the phone goes in first), but wearing the strap and neck, it's pointing in the right direction when you pick it up and look at it. Didn't try to take it underwater but I checked with a tissue and it was dry. I would have no problem if the phone was submerged in water.
