I really hate taking points off this article. However, due to its excellent waterproof properties, it is very difficult to wash. First and foremost, this item lives up to its advertised specifications - it's waterproof even after multiple washes. It's not like many others that are advertised as waterproof which lose that quality even after 2 washes. This is a quality item made from excellent soft fabric. It's also not unbearably hot to sleep underneath. We have an elderly cat with health issues so exercise our blankets. I have 3 that I turn over and not a day goes by that I don't wash them. They're still soft, still waterproof. And they don't make clicking and popping noises like someone sleeping in cling wrap. Unfortunately, the blanket does not distinguish between pet urine and the water used to wash it. When washing, it becomes very difficult. We have a powerful machine that throws them off balance every time. It's almost impossible to squeeze out all the water during the spin cycle, which means it takes a long time to dry, about an hour. I'm so glad they make this product, so glad I finally found a blanket that does what it says on the tin. This is just a warning: if you don't have a powerful machine or shared dryer in your apartment, you may need to reconsider your washing process.
