Review on 📦 Enhanced Cooling Box: EverCool Dual 5.25 inch Drive Bay to Triple 3.5 inch HDD Solution by Matthew Aiono

I bought this to use with the midtower as a DIY NAS via OpenMediaVault. Overall, the quality is good and the design is well executed, but it lacks a few spots. The fan is obviously "universal" and a little late: louder than necessary, but not "bad" and connected via a very old IDE power connector rather than a more modern SATA power connector or a simple 3 or 4 pin standard interface fan . for the motherboard. Ironically, the solder on mine broke when I was fumbling with the connector to plug it into the adapter, so it's going to be replaced anyway. Luckily the fan is a standard size, 90/92mm if I remember correctly, so it's easy to swap out and the device itself is designed to be easy to do too. It comes with a mount for (3) 3.5" drives or (4) 2.5" drives, so it's pretty flexible. The workmanship is quite solid, so I'm not only satisfied, but also very comfortable to use in a case lying on its side. Overall I am sorry that this device looks like it is no longer widely available as it was exactly what I needed. As optical drives go away and the 5.25 bay is likely to stay with them I think it's inevitable but I have to say I love the flexibility they offer with products like this. Oh good. Get one while you can.
